If only THEY knew what I know!!

If only the doctors knew what I have ALWAYS known! That Eli's "special need" is not really a need at all! HE has been cleared and is a thriving, healthy, normal little boy! I have ALWAYS known that from the first time I saw his face! I always knew that there was nothing wrong with him! I always knew that those missing ribs were of no great concern! GOD reassured me of that last June! I think that most people are scared off by the words "special needs". Granted, special needs adoption is not for everyone! But let me tell you this....even a non special needs adoption comes with risks! I know folks, and have read of families that have brought their child home only to find that their child has been diagnosed with a special need or 2. If I had NOT listened to the words of my Heavenly Father, I would not be blessed with 2 of my children! I can not begin to tell you how happy they make me! To think that my children could still be living in an orphanage because I was afraid makes me shutter!!! Have Faith my friends....pray for these children and pray for your heart to be broken by the things that break HIS!!!

Not what we were expecting to hear!

Well, it is Friday evening and I am laying here in a hospital bed with my sweet boy! He was in surgery for over 3 hours! It was about 10:30 when we talked with the doctor. The news he delivered to us was not what we were expecting to hear, nor were we expecting to stay one night let alone two!! Eli was to be circumcised, have a testicle brought down, and then a hernia repaired! When the doc got in there, the hernia was bigger than expected, and his Vas Deferens in the right testicle was messed up so the doc was a bit perplexed as to where it was going, and if it was indeed attached to the testicle. He ordered an ultrasound for the next morning! He wanted to check to make sure that his bladder and kidneys were normal and that there were no problems with them. Eli had done very well in surgery and we were able to finally get back to the Recovery room to see him. Olivia took it very hard. She was so scared by all of the tubes attached to Eli and all of the monitors beeping around her. When the nurse showed us his genital area, it was swollen and bloody, which absolutely set her off sobbing and crying! Only after he opened his eyes and started to come around did she realize that he was going to be ok!
We were only supposed to be outpatient, however, since the surgery went long and it was already after 10 pm, the doc suggested we spend the night! We finally checked into the room after 11 and at 12:30 Craig and the girls made the decision to stay as well. Eli had had a spinal for pain, and seemed to be very comfy! Because of the anesthesia , his SATS dropped a bit during the night and so a Pulmonary doc was sent in this morning! She insisted that we stay another night to monitor him, and if needed he will need oxygen and a sleep study!! WHATEVER!!! I was so mad I could of ate nails and spit tacks!!! What money making BS!!!! I tried fighting her and she became upset with me! SO..here we are! Another night in the hospital!!! UGH!!!! The good news is that the Ultrasound came back normal, and he also had another chest xray that also came back normal! All I can say is.... THANK YOU GOD FOR ANSWERED PRAYERS & THANK GOD FOR INSURANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hurry up & wait!!!

Today has been quite the day!! Eli's surgery was scheduled for 2:30 so we were her by 1:15. We decided to bring the girls as opposed to leaving them with family. Well, 2:30 came and went...no surgery! 3:30...4:30.....7:30 rolls around and they finally come for our sweet boy!! He was such a trooper! He had not eaten in over 24 hours and I know he was soooo hungry!  They gave him a Versed to make him sleepy and he left in the arms of the cute male nurse who was young enough to be Eli's brother!!! So, here we are sitting i the waiting room with prayers being lifted for our sweet Eli!!!
